We would like to welcome you to 2009 with two technical presentations in February. Our usual monthly event is scheduled for February 25th 2009 at 6 PM. Our guest speaker is Mr. Eli Khoury, P.E., Vice President of HNTB, will be presenting a lecture on "Leadership, the Optimal Thinking". The event will take place at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and we are looking forward to seeing all of you there. More details regarding this event will be sent separately and posted on our website once the room is confirmed.
We were also able to secure a technical-based PIE lecture that will grant you a 1 (one) Professional Development Hour (PDH) by attending. The presenter is Mr. Yahia M. Al-Smadi, Ph.D., a Senior Mechanical Engineer for Movable Structures & FEA Specialist.
The lecture is "Heavy Movable Structures Synthesis Considering Motion and Torque" and he will discuss "Planar four-bar heavy movable mechanisms are synthesized to achieve-not only prescribed rigid-body positions - but also satisfy driver static torque and buckling failure for a given rigid-body load."
This class can be used to earn 1 PDH if you are already a certified PE.
